Mud Dock
40 The Grove , BS1 4RB, Bristol
When the sun has got his hat on, the only thing that you want to do is pull up a seat in a sun drenched terrace and laugh at the hilarity found in everyday life. Lucky for you, the Mud Dock exists.
Plonked on a corner a stone?s throw away from the central fountains, the Mud Dock is in the thick of things and the owners have been very shrewd in their amalgamation of bicycle shop/shed, restaurant and bar. If the penny farthing propped up idly in the corner doesn?t raise a smile as you imagine foppish Victorian dandies steadying themselves on lampposts, I don?t know what will.
Even better, the terrace is elevated and thus enjoys wondrous views over the Severn and into town. A Spanish influenced tapas menu means that all salt cravings you might encounter are duly met, leaving nothing more to concern you than to count the boats meandering past. Utter bliss.
